Oh hai! Do Icelandic folks enjoy the cheezburger cats? No idea but I do know I'd like to return for some outdoor adventure. After a 5 hour night flight and about 4.7 minutes of solid sleep, the Prof and I were too pooped to do everything we planned. Of course we started out our morning by relaxing at the Blue Lagoon hot pool but oh wait! It was broken! No really. The water was cold because the pumps were broken. So we hugged the walls where some heat was being emitted like a bunch of scared kids just learning to swim. They did graciously refund our money but this just means we will need to go back again and stay longer. After wandering the streets, we took a nap and then headed for a puffin excursion by (very small) boat. Puffins are damn cute and I'd occasionally call out: Don't eat me! In a Mr. Bill voice. Because
Icelandic folks do. Upon returning to land we ate at the best vegetarian restaurant ever. No really! It's number one over a long list of three vegetarian restaurants in Iceland. Seriously though, it did kick arse. After more walking and picking up some gifts, we headed back to a really crappy guesthouse we were staying. That was the only low point of the trip but know we know.
The next morning we headed by bus to the airport. That small trip is a post on its own which I'll share later. Overall I thought Iceland was a very interesting place. If we return, we'll rent a cabin and enjoy the outdoor surroundings like seeing glaciers, geysers, and waterfalls. But for now, we are in Oslo, Norway and I'm a bit in love with this city. I'll continue the journey with you soon.
