I suppose this isn't sappy but I thought I would try to identify the cast of characters I might discuss in future posts. Of course to protect their privacy and so they won't sue/hate/beat-me-up, I am giving them pseudonyms.
Pa & Ma - My delightful parents. They are in their 70's and just about the nicest folks you could meet. Everyone loves them. They are short in stature, not unlike me, but have the biggest hearts, unlike me. Their marriage has lasted 51 years and it is a relationship everyone should hope to attain.
Sistah - my wonderful sister and BFF. She is my much MUCH older sister and I am also lucky enough to call her my best friend. Her husband is wicked smaht like my husband and she has three gorgeous kids. Plus, she has the inner strength of a bear (I like bears okay and dammit their strong) and can deal with the toughest times like a trooper.
Brah - my big brother and musical genius. I say brah because he knew this kid in California who instead of calling him bro he would say brah. We used to say it to each other all the time. He is a talented musician and his wife is a lovely artist who I mentioned in an earlier post (BUY HER ART!). He has four beautiful children who will all be geniuses or models or actors. Period.
Renee - my best friend from high school. I am giving her the name of the actress who she looks like. She is kick ass, hilarious, talented, lovely, and has the tallest husband EVER. I think if anyone ever recorded our IM chats or conversations, well, let's just say our sanity might be questioned.
Josephine - my best friend from law school. Damn, she kicks some ass too. She graduated law school even after being diagnosed with cancer after her first semester. She is equally as quirky as I and a very compassionate person. Although I worry if the Prof and I spend some time in Taiwan for his future sabbatical, she might visit us and return with an adopted baby. Don't ask.
Elaine - one of my best friends from college. She is a straight shooter but unexpectedly hilarious at the same time. I don't think I've met a more generous person who really cares about people. She has very goofy husband and an adorable little boy who will turn one very soon! We live way too far away from them.
Dutch - one of my newest friends. Also in the same profession as me, she is another quirky chic who I knew I HAD TO BE FRIENDS WITH when I met her. If she reads this, I'm sure she would fix my grammar for me because she's wicked smaht that way. Her sarcasm and wit are always quick and clever. I wish I could be half as witty. Plus, I love her family too and I hope they adopt me as my family away from home.
Emma - one of my older newish friends. I met her through the interwebs, about which at first I felt weird, but she is freakin' hilarious and a damn good writer. Hello! Publishers! Go see Eriepressible!!! Also witty, sarcastic, and politically savvy. Plus she keeps me up to date on the happenin's around town.
The Prof - the love of my life. We met at a going away part for his ex-girlfriend and our eyes met over a giant bowl of chips and dip. It's been glorious ever since. He is brilliant, goofy, crazy, and puts up with my craziness. I can't imagine spending my life with another human being. He is my mostest.
